Now that Sagrario has gone back to Val\u00e8ncia, it was time to get settled in for a bit of solo time. I will miss her very much but I also look forward to being alone to work and rest. What do I have to rest from, you say? Well, as an introvert who has lived on her own for a few years now, it was not always easy to have other people around all the time, as lovely as they all were. I needed a bit of ‘me’ time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

My big plan for being here was twofold: to work on the blog and spend as much time at the beach as possible. I was ready to wear all my summer dresses and work on my tan. I did start making progress on the blog, but the weather wasn’t as cooperative as I would have liked, at least not yet. While the sun was definitely out and shining, it was accompanied by a rather cold wind making the beach-going not as much fun as it should be. So, instead, I got walking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first solo walk was to explore the waterfront, mainly because it’s such a nice area, and with so many cool boats and yachts on display, it’s really impossible not to enjoy it. The waterfront of D\u00e9nia is comprised of two marinas, the old and the new, as well as the actual port where the fishing boats and the ferries to the Balearic Islands launch from. Most of the boats here are not very big but there are one or two massive yachts moored alongside the sailboats. It may be fun to imagine what it’s like to own one these beauties but since I never saw a soul on board, any hints as to their purpose or ownership remain nonexistent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the really cool things about the waterfront is that no matter where you are walking alongside the water, you can see these rather large fishies swimming around, often seemingly in a procession, back and forth, back and forth. I caught on video a gentleman feeding them but somehow managed to not record their regular swims, go figure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
